Axel Lycan

Axel grew up in Kansas City and has spent nearly a decade DJing close to 300 weddings. Before moving to Arizona he managed and DJ’d for Platinum DJ KC, one of the city’s top-rated wedding companies. Along the way he’s played Sporting KC stadium events and block parties, weddings and New Year’s Eve parties at historic Union Station, and Mizzou’s freshman Backyard BBQ for a crowd of 8,000.

All those nights taught him timing. Through cocktail hour and dinner, Axel is calm and keeps the mic short. He makes the announcement, keeps the night moving, and steps back so the moments belong to you. He saves the hype for your grand entrance and the moment the dance floor opens, and then he flips the switch. His sets are built on 2000s and 2010s pop, hip-hop, pop punk, and party EDM, the songs your college friends and your cousins both know every word to.

Axel builds your night around the songs you love and the ones you’d rather skip, with equal care. You won’t get the same wedding playlist your guests have heard a dozen times. As a producer he cuts his own edits and mashups, so your entrance song hits right as the doors open, and a song you love can lose the verse you don’t.

Off the decks, Axel is deep into music production and boxing. He still thinks the best part of any wedding is the moment the whole room stops caring who’s watching.
